Welcome, here's a little bit about us
Established in 1997
- Name created by Sam Robertson an 8 year old pupil
- A need had been identified for more formal, good quality, affordable, and flexible childcare provision in Linlithgow
- The Club was based in Linlithgow Primary School and was registered for 40 children at any one time
- The service enabled parents/carers to return to employment, further education/training or extend their working hours
- 4 staff were employed
- Children attended from 3 different Schools
- We were established as an Unincorporated Association operating within our Club Constitution.
- We gained Scottish Charitable Status
- 9 volunteer parents/carers formed the Management Committee
- We received a £4000 start up grant from Lothians and Edinburgh Enterprise Limited - LEEL
- Our turnover in the first year was £32,000
Expanded to meet demand
- We are now registered to take 170 children at a time
- We now employ 16 members of staff
- We have children attending from 8 different Schools
- We have secured a total of £71,000 in grants through The Big Lottery Childcare provision programme

The Kingfisher Club operates from two locations and to avoid confusion, each club has a "house name"
